If you are Drill&Log customer, you can make a free of charge update to the latest version. Please execute the following steps to update:
What do you need?
- The latest setup program for Drill&Log
- The latest database patch
- Administratory rights at the PC, where you execute the update.
1. Backup the database
First, you should make a backup of your existing Drill&Log database. You can either use the integrated backup function or alternatively copy or pack the entire database directory.
2. Uninstall Drill&Log
Select „Software“ in the windows system requirements. Select „Change or remove Software“ and select Drill&Log. Click on the button „remove“
Important: Only the software is removed, not the database!
3. Installation of Drill&Log 2.6
Start the setup for Drill&Log 2.6. The setup routine will guide you through the installation process.
Important:Step 2 and 3 must be executed at all workstations, where Drill&Log is installed.
4. Database patch
After the installation of Drill&Log, bring in the latest database patch in your Drill&Log database: Start Drill&Log (Start | Software | Drill&Log) and select from the menu Database | Administration the menu entry „update database“.
Select the patch file (109.dbu) and your Drill&Log database in the following dialog. Click on „patch“ and the patch process starts (this may take a few seconds).
5. optional: update od the definition data set
Start Drill&Log and connect with your database. Go to the menu „Definition Data“ and select the menu entry „Definition Data Sets Management“. Compare the versions of the definition data with the in the following listed latest versions. If the date is different, you should download the definition data set and update.
In the left corner of the Definition Data Sets Management form, you find the command button „import definition data set“. Click the form to start the definition data set import. Here you will find the actual version of the Drill&Log definition data sets. You can either download all definition data sets togehter as .zip archive or you can download the singular definition data sets (.dds-files).
