Installation and Licensing

Is Drill&Log network enabled?

Q.	Is it possible to upgrade from Standard edition to the Professional edition?
A.	Yes. An upgrade is possible at any time (prices see in the list of prices). You will get a new licence for the upgrade.

Q.	Is AutoCAD necessary for Drill&Log?
A.	No! Drill&Log generates its graphics in the DWG format, but the installation of AutoCAD is not a must. For further editional work, every DWG compatible software (AutoCAD, IntelliCAD, BricsCAD,...)may be used.

Q.	Is it possible, to run Drill&Log also without connection to the central database (e.g.: on the way with a laptop)?
A.	Yes. A connection to the central Drill&Log database is not necessary. In this case, you can use Drill&Log with an auxiliary database. The contents can be adjusted with the central database.

Working with Drill&Log

Q.	Where do I find the Drill&Log database?
A.	During installation of Drill&Log, you decide, where your database is stored. The default installation directory is c:\Drill&Log Database. After starting Drill&Log, you first mus connect to the database (Menu: Database \| connect). Configurations in the user profile makes it possible, that Drill&Log is connected automatically with the database, after you start Drill&Log.

Q.	What standards are supported by Drill&Log?
A.	You can generate borehole protocols after various standards. Already included are DIN 4023 and ÖNORM 4401. The flexibility of Drill&Log allows the user, to implement other standards to Drill&Log.

Q.	Print with VoloView Express?
A.	Drill&Log uses for preview and printing the freeware VoloView Express (AutoDesk). You should obtain writing rights for the directory "C:\Software\Volo View Express". Tip: Use best quality for printing.

How is it possible to copy a drilling?

Q.	How can I update Drill&Log to the latest version?
A.	You find under Drill&Log Update an instruction, how to update the latest version of Drill&Log.

How can drillings be transferred between databases?
