Drill&Log Features

Packed in a easy to use graphical user interface, Drill&Log offers a lot of features, which makes the product useful for different areas of application.

The user community consists of geologists, civil engineers and ressource gaining companies. Following, the most important features of Drill&Log are listed. Convince yourself, that Drill&Log is also the suitable solution for your requirements and download the free demo version. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

Borehole archive

Drill&Log is based on a powerful and scaleable database, which can manage thousands of boreholes. This enables Drill&Log, to be used as a central archive. The organisation of the boreholes in projects and the visualization as treeview makes it easy to administrate the database.

  • scaleable and secure database
  • concise arrangement of boreholes, pile drivings and projects in a treeview
  • import & export of borehole data
  • export as web-archive (for inter- and/or intranet applications)

AutoCAD compatibility

Drill&Log generates graphics in the AutoCAD format (.dwg) – alternatively in .dxf and .dwf. To use Drill&Log, it is not necessary, to have AutoCAD installed. Nevertheless, the .dwg-format enables an easy data exchange with civil engineers and project partners. An AutoCAD plugin, which is enclosed in Drill&Log enables access to the Drill&Log database directly from AutoCAD and supports during the generation of profile sections, fence diagrams and other continuative processing.

  • standard dwg-graphic format
  • native .dwg support (no AutoCAD needed)
  • georeferenced 3D graphic
  • AutoCAD plugin included (2D sections and 3D fence diagrams)
  • supports .dwg versions R14 – 2009
  • other file formats: DXF, DWF, SVG, BMP, JPG

Conforming to standards graphical output

Drill&Log enables the adaption of your borehole and pile driving plots in 2D (classic protocols) and 3D (georeferenced borehole columns) to your specific needs. Drill&Log contains templates for 2D borehole and pile driving protocols, which are recommended by different standards (DIN 4023, ÖNORM 4401, Prinz,...).

  • User specific adaption of 2D and 3D graphic
  • Various standards are integrated:
  • DIN 4023
  • DIN 4094
  • ISO 710
  • EN ISO 14688
  • ÖNORM 4401
  • own standards can be integrated in the templates

2D & 3D log graphics

Drill&Log provides 2D as well as georeferenced 3D log graphics - all in standard dwg format. This is a sound basis for the creation of solid models, fence diagrams, etc.

  • classical 2D borehole log
  • georeferenced 3D grafic
  • AutoCAD DWG format
  • integrated AutoCAD plugin
  • 2D profiles and 3D fence diagrams

Multi user and network enabled

Drill&Log access your data from any number of workstations in your network at the same time - even edit data of the same log at the same time.

  • network enabled (for any number of workstations)
  • multi user enabled
  • central database
  • file sharing enables simultaneous data entry to the central database

LAS, Excel, ASCII support

Easily import data from various file formats into your database. LAS 2.0, Excel and ASCII formats are supported.

  • data import from Excel and ASCII files
  • import of LAS files ( Log ASCII Standard of the Canadian Well Logging Society) – meaningful for machines data and data from automatic data acquisition.
  • dataexport in XLS and ASCII format
  • integrated LAS explorer

External Data

Complex projects call for flexible handling of diverse data associated with bore holes and pile drivings. Graphical output of tests, drill core photos or any kind of external files are consistently managed by Drill&Log. External files can be viewed with their native applications, started directly from the Drill&Log log editor or from the 2D and 3D log graphics.

  • integration of external files
  • hyperlinks of external files in dwg graphic and web report
  • central storage of all information concerning a drillhole
